“The spring wakes us, nurtures us and revitalizes us. How often does your spring come? If you are a prisoner of the calendar, it comes once a year. If you are creating authentic power, it comes frequently.” ~Gary Zukav

My energy has been increasing daily—there’s a spring in my step these days.

Anybody else feeling… lighter, more optimistic?

Maybe it’s the increasing daylight.

Perhaps it’s all the clutter I’ve cleared out of my apartment while isolating over the winter.

Or maybe it’s hope ushered in with the COVID vaccination, or the promise of reuniting with family this summer.

Or maybe, like a moored boat slowly rising with the tide, this uptick in my energy reflects not only renewed hope but also relief; all those for whom I truly care, those I know personally, clients, friends, and family, have not only survived this year of chaos, but grown and blossomed.

Like a hardy perennial, we seem to have endured a cold winter and emerged stronger, more plentiful, and with deeper roots.

The world has held its breath for a year and is slowly exhaling.

And while some caution is still called for, it seems everyone can feel it: Spring is in the air.

The deliciousness of the mundane—a casual backyard cookout, a spontaneous encounter on the street with a friend, smiles, hugs, holding hands—are agonizingly within reach.

Warmer winds and brighter days await us all.

Or maybe, it’s up to us to create them.

In our minds and hearts.

And not wait on the calculations of a calendar to tell us when to start.

“Spring is when you feel like whistling, even with a shoe full of slush.” ~Doug Larsen
