“Give with love, give in need.
Take with gratitude, laugh with ease.”
~Hannah Mograby

I conducted a retreat over the weekend. Ended a couple of hours ago.

Nine people of varying ages, from different walks of life, different religions, and ethnicities came together and created a joyful, peaceful, productive 5 days; my insides are smiling.

One of the participants, the youngest at twenty-five years of age, when asked what she got out of attending the class, responded with the poem quoted above.

I thought it worth passing along.

Not because it reflects well on the experience, although it does.

And not just because I find it brilliant in its succinct simplicity as well as its perfect profundity.

Mostly it’s because I believe if everyone adopted it as a daily mantra, we might actually do life a bit differently, a bit softer, perhaps.

And because “out of the mouths of babes” often pours forth unfiltered, clear-eyed summations like Hannah’s poem, upon which I cannot improve, nor would I want to.

Besides, I’m happy to let her do the heavy lifting this week.

My heart is full, but my brain just shut down.

Have a great week, everyone, and may you laugh with ease.
